Have You Incorporated Your Strengths into Serving in Your Business?

20130723_075030I love taking any kind of quiz that gives me insight into myself: Myers Briggs, DiSC, or even the latest Oprah.com poll. One of my favorite tools has been the Strengths Finder assessment. I was going through my bookshelves recently and came across the five strengths that came up for me the last time I took the assessment over 4 years ago.

Reading through the results, I was intrigued by how accurately those five strengths reflect how I currently think and operate. What’s interesting is that when I got the results 4 years ago, I had no idea how much these strengths would drive where I am today. Back then, all I knew was that I was in a corporate job that did not support my strengths and left very little opportunity for me express who I was and contribute in a way aligned to my purpose and passion. The six-figure job gave me financial prosperity, but with little passion and no alignment to my purpose, it was one of the most frustrating situations I’ve experienced.

According to that Strengths Finder assessment I took, my top five strengths are:

  • Futuristic
  • Maximizer
  • Intellection
  • Learner
  • Activator

I took some time to reflect how each of these strengths has shown up in my current path and how they help me serve the brilliant women messengers I teach and coach.
